10 GM - reels

Due to a structured modular principle, our GM reels with smooth flanges and diameters up to 630 mm allow the greatest possible variety of dimension variants and application possibilities as dispatch or process reels.

REEL DESIGNATIONS

GM reels have the same basic dimensions as those in the VM series, however, the flanges have no ribs on the outside surfaces. The outer surfaces of the flanges are roughened in a star formation and can be used as contact surfaces for braking purposes.

OUTER WIDTH

The outer width of the reels is normally the winding width (L2) plus 2x the flange thickness (S). If desired, however, in conjunction with smaller central bores hub extensions can also be supplied, which then additionally increase the overall width of the reels.

TOLERANCES

All dimensions, weights and loads stated are approximate values; tolerances and deviations which are customary for the industry remain reserved.

IMPORTANT

Shrink-wrapped pallets of packages must not be stored in direct sunlight, as the heat build-up may cause the plastic to warp.

CENTRAL BORES

The reels have a standard central bore of 127 mm (5 inch) in diameter. Smaller diameters of any size can also be supplied by means of additional inserts. For various reasons, it has proven to be best to use bore dimensions which are already used in the relevant standards, e.g. 36 and 56 mm. All bores are fitted with a supporting tube. The bores can also be fitted with a polyamide bush, which increases the abrasion resistance of the central bore. These bushes can be replaced.

DRIVES

Bores or pins are available on request.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

All reels with a barrel diameter d2 >= 200 mm can be bolted for additional strength. This brochure can only provide a guide to our products and standard dimensions, as numerous combinations and details are possible. If possible, please enclose a drawing with your enquiry, showing the position and design of drive devices and wire entry and exit. A wide range of different hub designs are also possible; therefore please contact us if you have any special requests.

Material

ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) in the colour grey. Other colours are also available subject to certain minimum quantities.

Winding widths

The winding widths given in the table are the most cost-effective. Smaller winding widths can also be supplied by shortening the barrel.
