Due to a structured modular principle, our reels with diameters from 315–800 mm allow the greatest possible variety of dimension variants and application possibilities as dispatch or process reels

LM/EM/FR

Reels in the LM series are intended as a cost-effective solution for the dispatch of bare and insulated wire. They are made of impact-resistant PS in the colour anthracite. EM series reels offer additional reinforcement through an inner core made of ABS.

A selection of the low-priced versions in the diameter range 315–630 mm can be found in the separate brochure. Reels in the FR series can be assembled with plastic or cardboard barrels. Unmounted flanges are also available. The material used is PS or ABS.

VM

These reels have the same basic dimensions as those in the LM series, although the slightly thicker flanges make the entire outer width larger than comparable LM reels. PS-TSG, ABS or PA6 are the materials used. The standard dimensions are particularly cost-effective.

VMV/VMZ

Reels for the manufacture of stranded wire and telephone wire. Large flange thicknesses and the resulting high rigidity are the distinguishing features of VMV and VMZ series reels. The reels are reinforced with an inner core and can be bolted for additional strength. ABS is the material used.

GM/GMV

GM and GMV reels are the number one choice in the production of telephone cables. GM reels have the same basic dimensions as those in the VM series, however, the flanges have no ribs on the outside surfaces.

The outer surfaces of the flanges are roughened in a star formation and can be used as contact surfaces for braking purposes. The material used is ABS in the colour grey. Other colours are also available.

Special requests

This brochure can only provide a guide to our products and standard dimensions, as numerous combinations and details are possible. If possible, please enclose a drawing with your enquiry, showing the position and design of drives and wire entry and exit. A wide range of different hub designs are also possible; therefore please contact us if you have any special requests.

The table shows all possible combinations; where several dimensions are given, the DIN dimensions are indicated separately. The bore d3 and the winding width L2 can also be made smaller on request. Special features, such as additional or different drives and wire holes are possible. Reel designation, e.g. VM 500/127–290 PS TSG, d2 = 250, L2 = 250. For further details, such as wire holes, hub extensions or drives, please include a drawing.

Differences

The reels vary in design mainly due to the different shapes of flange and the material used. The various flange shapes are explained overleaf. The reels in the LM and EM series differ in the material used, but otherwise have the same flange design. LM reels do not feature an inner tube.
